Our popular History of the First Australians series continues to tick all the boxes for schools and our newest Set 5 release is ready to continue the tradition.

HFA Set 5 includes another 20 stunning titles which focus on authentic stories about First Nations people, places, culture, history, landscapes, and experiences.

Stunning visual support in the form of photography and author artwork adds further appeal to this newest release, with QR Codes embedded throughout each story, directing students to related videos which support the text and encourage different learning styles.

Reading Recovery levels 11 to 26 cater for mainstream Lower to Middle Primary students, but also support secondary Learning Support and ESL needs, engaging even the most reluctant readers with high interest, low reading level topics. Comprehensive Teacher and Assessment Guides complete the package and allow teachers to perform additional assessment and diagnosis of students’ learning.

From Creation stories to non-fiction recounts, explanations and descriptive reports, all titles in this series assist in embedding the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures Cross Curriculum Priority into the literacy block. Several other Learning Areas are also addressed which help to teach these important concepts in context, ultimately reducing the impact of the “crowded curriculum”.

HFA 5 also addresses the important elements of cultural diversity, identity, and inclusivity, ensuring the opportunity to extend both Indigenous and non-Indigenous children’s knowledge and understandings of themselves, and others who may be different from them.
